I am sorry
If you have one of these then I am sorry to say you do not have a water softener. This device does not remove scale. You will not have beautiful soft water or a clean shower. And it will not save you any money on soap and cleaners.
It is a nice colour though.
This particular unit was installed by a builder in a new home when the customer requested a water softener. Incompetence or a rip off?

A Very Scaled up House
This customer had been living with scale until it ruined their hot water cylinder. With a kitchen refurbishment due it was a great time to install a water softener.

It was a bit of a voyage of discovery in that the stopcock was just showing through a tiled panel. We removed that and started a fresh.

You will note the very long hoses, these are like this as the floor and shelves need to be done and the unit might well be moved around.
Also the electricity is temporary.
A Swap out of a very soggy old water softener

This customer is running a small Bed and Breakfast and had the good sense to put in a water softener many years ago to protect their home and business.
Unfortunately all good things must come to and end and in typical Waterside / BWT/ Culligan machines that meant the customer getting wet toes.
We advised the customer that a new water softener was the order of the day and that if we moved it to the next cupboard putting salt in would be a lot easier

This custom made unit with light weight lift off lid comes fully insulated. We can do nearly any size you like. The frame is treated softwood and being cedar clad means nearly zero maintenance.

This customer had moved in the house and found an old kinetico unit. It was old and not working plus it was connected only to the tank feed.
A bit of new plumbing, new hoses and bypass plus a brand new twin cylinder machine from Harveys. You can probably see the tester bottle of washing powder in front of the machine.

This rather large home in Dorset needed a custom solution to their hardwater problem.
A Hague 7180 was the solution, large salt container, 28mm pipe connection, amazing flow rates, built in self cleaning filter and the most effecient water softener in its class.
All installed by us with new copper pipe work.

We got called to an old autotrol which had seen better days.
Before- not good
Unfortunately the kitchen fitter had built it in and the only way was to cut it out. At the same time we removed all of the old assortment of pipe work and hoses and replaced them in a correct manner
All copper and with the correct bypass.
One thing we keep seeing is water Softeners connected with washing machine hoses. These should not be used as most are not lined correctly for drinking water.

Lovely Christchurch and Mudeford in Hampshire suffers from very hard water.
This customer having had enough called around his local softener companies and after a full site survey we installed for him our top of the range Block Salt, twin cylinder water softener. made for us by Harveys.
It was a tricky install as the water main had been buried in a wall so the unit was fitted on a shelve that we reinforced in his airing cupboard.
